Review on Kwikset Juno Entry Knob with SmartKey - Venetian Bronze (97402-737) by Gordie Johnson

While this product claims to be "universal" and fits both right and left hand doors, nothing could be further from the truth! Unlike competitor doors that allow you to install an outside handle every 90 degree turn, the cylinder for this only provides ONE correct orientation and if you install it on a door where either A. the right hand is the opens door by pushing in, or B. left hand opens door by pulling it out, you will be forced to install it with the keyhole UP, which will look like it was installed with a total jerk! Their own instructions actually have a diagram showing if it needs to be installed upside down, they say it's fine! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT OK! THIS IS COMPLETELY STUPID! Can't believe they didn't provide a way to reverse the orientation of the key entry side to FIX a completely WRONG doorknob installation! I love this brand for their latches which I have installed on all my front doors but the thought that went into these knobs is just stupid and they shouldn't be allowed to advertise - WRONG - as UNIVERSAL; this is very true ONLY for doors where the right hand opens the door or the left hand pushes the door from the front; In other settings you will be forced to turn the keyhole UP DOWN and will look like an IDIOT to anyone who knows you have that button installed!
