Design flaws: Hardware

This lock has design flaws. First, the outer handle is thick and large and comfortable to grip, while the inner handle is smaller and thinner. I don't have big hands and yet it's uncomfortable and tiring every time I have to turn it. Why don't they make the inside handle the same comfortable size if hand comfort is supposed to be the number one priority here next to me? Second, the outer round plate has two tiny "teeth" on the back I think which is why they bite into the door and prevent it…

Key slot upside down.

Bought 4 for the previous house. They each had the key slot reversed for my application with a door with a doorknob to the right of the key side. I ordered a tool to pull out the lock cylinder to rotate it, which works fine. Unlike competitor doors that allow you to install an outside handle every 90 degree turn, the cylinder for this only provides ONE correct orientation and if you install it on a door where either A. the right hand is the opens door by pushing in, or B. left hand opens door by pulling it out, you will be forced to install it with the keyhole UP, which will look like it was

Updated with two minuses. Updated again!

I came from the Schlage entry handle. I like this Kwikset a lot more. If you lock it, you cannot open it from the inside, so you are sure that it is locked. You can also close it while it's locked, so you don't have to use the key when you've got your hands full locking it. There is little risk of locking yourself in since you have to unlock the door to open it before you leave. Just make sure you always have the keys with you. Also, this handle has two tiny spikes designed to hook onto a…
