After some negotiation, my local dealer wanted to charge me for diagnosing my check engine light. I refused to pay. I bought and serviced our last two Toyotas from this dealer. How about customer loyalty. Instead, I drove to an auto parts store where they scanned my check engine light for free, looked at the code, and told me what the most common fault was. Loose or poorly closed gas cap. They even told me to order this cap from Amazon because it was OEM and would probably fit. They said they would return the codes and delete them after rechecking once I received the cover. After I installed this header, they scanned the code and cleaned it. No problems for 2 months. Toyota dealer. I shake my head.
