This is the best pan in my kitchen! You can use it as a steamer or as a delicious soup pot. I mainly use it for soups. Every time I put the soup on the fire, I'm just amazed at how quickly it heats up and how well the heat is distributed. I really love this pan! Some reviews complain about stains, but I don't mind a few stains when the pan cooks so well. I find it very easy to clean. I also like how the lid is balanced. When preparing soup, I like to leave the lid slightly open, which is a problem with some pots. Not this pot, you can place the lid however you like and it will be perfectly balanced on the pot. I've never had a pan of this quality and can't believe the difference to my other pans. I only wish I had waited that long to buy it. It was expensive but fully justified the price. UPDATE: I recently bought a 4 quart All Clad non-stick stock pot because that 5 quart pot is a bit too big for some of the dry soup mixes I use occasionally. But after using the non-stick pot, there is no comparison. This stainless steel pan outperforms the non-stick pan in every way. It distributes the heat better and heats up much faster than an All Clad non-stick pan. In my opinion the best frying pan! I just want them to make that 4 quart pot. I would definitely buy it.
