I have a Microsoft Surface 2017 and last year internal SSD space became an issue. I have this 128GB Sandisk that I wanted to connect to my surface. I use my Surface as my main computer, but it only has 1 USB port connected to a USB dock. Not wanting to bother with removing the Sandisk drive, I decided to try this hub from Plugable. This worked well for my purpose as I don't have to worry about something exerting force on the hub when it's plugged into my Surface, I don't have to worry about removing the USB drive. I can just leave it plugged in and go. I have a protective case for my Surface that's getting in the way of the hub connector, but that's not important enough to be an issue. For single-port tablets, this is a really good way to add USB ports. In the attached image, I turned it slightly forward (nice design feature).
