In terms of the combination of characteristics, the lens is ideal for an undemanding user. The low price and good optical performance have done their job - the lens is very popular. Its pros: Relatively small weight and dimensions, normal design, excellent range of focal lengths. Very good sharpness throughout the range and color reproduction for such an inexpensive zoom. Chromatic aberrations are minimal. Internal quiet focus. Some cons: What immediately catches the eye when using this lens is geometric distortion. Other times they are just terrifying. So, if you are going to shoot architecture, then be prepared to correct the distortion in the converter. In portrait photography, however, this is not evident. There is vignetting, but not very much. The stabilizer is present, but I would not say that it is good in this lens. At long focal lengths, it is noticeable in the viewfinder that the stabilizer does not always cope with the task, the image dances. Nikon has lenses with better stabilisation.
