Review on 🔧 BOXI 2pcs Front Hood Lift Supports for Hyundai Sonata 2011-2014 (Excluding Hybrid) - High Performance Struts and Shocks by Josh Allred

Not for mechanics. I watched a YouTube video on installation. The end result is great and the installation took no more than 15 minutes. The problem I had was that my screwdriver was too big so the spring clip came out on one side but not the other. To solve this problem I used a large wrench to hold the plastic end in place and needle nose pliers to tighten the clip on both sides. I then noticed the grooves on either side of the plastic end that the spring clip's "teeth" slide into by simply prying the clip towards the end of the post. Once the clamps were secured in the grooves, allowing the ball to pass through the hole, you were done. I aligned the struts but they were too long so it took me a second to help lift the hood, but before that the angles between the holes and the balls were wrong so I unscrewed the end one turn. Then it all fell together and the clips snapped into place to hold the "tooth" balls. However, the posts I removed rotated easily, so I figure I'll have to take one side of each post back off, screw it in, and let the push rod rotate, not the plastic end. The engine had recently been replaced so the original struts were chewed up and I couldn't be sure how they were installed. Bottom line simple, inexpensive, fast shipping and easy to make. Just like the result so far. Hope they keep their strength.
