Layer Adhesion and Clogging Problems

Unfortunately, due to the rave reviews, I bought four rolls of this material before testing. I can't enter it when trying three different printers - Railcore with Moskito, Prusa mk3s and Tevo Nereus with Hemera hotend. I can print other PLA, ABS, PETG, ASA and even some carbon filament on all these printers without any problems, but this Sunlu filament is useless for me. It appears to be very wet (as another reviewer noted), but drying it didn't help. To keep it from clogging, I have to run it at 235°C, while all my other PLAs run at 195-205°C with no problem. Layer adhesion is terrible. It seems like it's cold and under-extruded, but I've been tweaking all the settings for three days (yes, I've tried to get this to work on all three printers) and the combo doesn't work. Each print just falls apart when done without clogs or other problems. Just to make sure that I or all three printers are ok, I tried the same print with three other brands of filament (Hatchbox, Overture and IC3D). All three of these brands performed well in the 205°C range. Running multiple heat towers with Sunlu resulted in multiple stages (200-245 at 5°C jumps) and showed that the filament did not stick at any temperature setting, but did not flatten out until the 235°C range, but even then there was none layer adhesion. The colors look great. It would be great if it actually worked. For those of you who have been successful, I hope it continues. As for me, I will either give my balance to a friend to test or throw it away.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
