I use these to attach large plastic bumpers to my clients' docks. Even though the water in our lakes is fresh, stainless steel is by far the best option. Durable, will not rust, corrode or rust on anything else. It is also recommended to use stainless steel nuts (or lightweight aluminum nuts) as regular steel nuts will still rust (but will not rust).
