I was worried the silicone would be too flexible to move full trays in the freezer but the compartments are so small that only surface tension seems to be holding water, and they are also a bit stiffer than I thought. I haven't had any breakouts at all. Draining frozen cubes is more difficult. The ones in the middle are easy, but on the edges you have to bend and push from the back, push and pry from the front to get all the cubes out. I like the cubes and don't find them melting too quickly. I want them to make them out of about 1/2 inch square blocks. My kids love these bricks and call them Minecraft bricks.
