Review on πŸ‘¦ Boys' Clothing: Gioberti Knitted Cotton Cardigan Sweater in Sweaters by Marc Stewart

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Suitable for small and poorly tailored

The knit of this sweater feels nice but fits much smaller than expected. A size 10 usually looks pretty big on my son, but this size 10 sweater looks like he's about to outgrow it. The buttonholes are too small for the buttons and my 7 year old son can't button his sweater because of it. . It was NOT overknitted to give the needed stretch when working with knitwear and it was NOT zigzag stitched to achieve the same goal. This creates the seam where the button/loop tape attaches to the sweater which is completely inflexible and will not stretch, making the strip appear shorter than the rest of the sweater and rise at the front. Some of the threads used to sew the two pieces together also snapped (because they don't stretch due to the way they were sewn), leaving huge holes between the body of the sweater and the placket. In addition, the stripe is knitted so that the stretch is horizontal, and the sweater is knitted so that the stretch is vertical, which contributes to the lack of stretch and tearing of the seams. As I don't have the original tags and receipt I'm not sure I can return it so I guess I'll have to swallow this mistake when ordering. I can try removing the strip entirely with a seam ripper and sewing it on with a flexible zig zag stitch (or by hand) and see if that improves the sweater. Just a total disappointment to be honest. I wish I hadn't ordered it.
