Incredibly strong chain in a durable synthetic sleeve. The lock itself is also amazing and it's wrapped in a strong PVC/rubber sleeve that prevents the chain from being scratched. Be careful when tightening as exposed metal may be scratched. Why is this a 4 star review and not a 5 star review? The locking mechanism in the lock gets stuck intermittently and it's not just a wiggle to get things loose. So the probability of inoperability or a broken key in the lock is quite real. Most of the time everything works fine. I don't understand why they don't make the key/lock mechanism smoother.
