Very big acceleration compared to the Android TV I bought in autumn 2016

Despite what others say, this Android TV comes with Android 10 installed but the one I got , was a patch with bug fixes installed before August 18, 2020. So, it's actually pretty relevant. This android tv box has a very big acceleration compared to the android tv box I bought in fall 2016. My old 2016 Android TV box had an S912 chip (which I believe is a quad-core Cortex-A53 with an octa-core MP2 graphics core using 28nm lithography I believe) on the Android 6 was running. while my new Android TV Box has S905X3 SoC with 12nm lithography and runs Android 10. Now the old Android TV Box has been running for 5 years. A bit slow, but not critical. However, this new Android TV box is not sluggish at all, except when my internet connection lags the TV box, e.g. already installed on this Android TV Box) it takes a minute for the streaming video to be buffered for download, but after that you don't notice any lag in receiving the video as KODI plays the video slower than the next streaming segment loads. I signed into GooglePlay and uninstalled Kodi. 18.6 (AKA KD Play on this device) and installed Kodi 19. This is why the Tubi add-on you can install in KODI 18 does not yet work with KODI 19. The factory installed KODI 18 works fine, the only Der Reason I upgraded to KODI was a simple test of a really working Android set top box. KODI 19 now has Crackle, Pluto and Shout! Addons include WABC and WNBC, but the two channel addons that I really watch the most, the TUBI and ROKU channels on my longtime ROKU Stick (bought in 2015) are not yet available for KODI 19. I'm not even sure if the ROKU Channel will be made as an add-on for KODI as ROKU is in the process of selling their ROKU gear. TUBI is pretty much everything the ROKU channel has anyway. I'll mention that too, but it says in the product description: 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB 3.0 port and a TF card slot. That's better than other TV boxes in this price range and better than most TV boxes that cost twice as much. The rest of the features (WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, HDMI 2.x, Ethernet port, etc.) are pretty standard across all new TV boxes released in the last 5 years. Definitely buy this box if you are looking for the best deal on an Android TV box.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
