But serves its purpose.

Last night I watched Avatar 3D on my optoma GT720 and all I can say is that after 20 minutes I finally got used to background distractions in a tunnel or long narrow shots. I might just need to make a few tweaks, but for now it's working and it could all just be because Avatar was such a high profile movie in terms of its use in 3D. In fact, I can set the screen too big for 3D to be affective, making it too affective. I know I'm going to love this product, it just takes a few troubleshooting attempts to get it right. I wish there were more on-screen prompts than 'no sync', without good instructions and removed or better button labels it can be confusing. Even the .pdf didn't say where to place the HDMI output or input, I know I should already know, but it didn't work. The last working combination is HDMI from projector to 3D converter and HDMI IN to Blue-Ray IN 3D player and 3D HDMI to HDMI IN converter of game console. For some reason I could only get this combo to work with an RCA HDMI source select hub. For the price I think it does the job compared to Optoma's $50 more 3D conversion box. I bought this item and 2 pairs of SainSonic 3D shutter glasses and Avatar 3D (accidentally labeled Special Edition) for less than $300 so yes it was good value. I'm sure after a few tweaks like the nameless button on the converter and V-sync on the projector and screen size calibration it will work fine. It's worth the investment if you don't mind having to make changes to large projections. My throw is over 200 inches, so I'm thinking there might be a lot of stress on the hardware.
