Used for making jam that requires precise temperature. It worked great, except sometimes it wouldn't turn on. I noticed it turn on after I tapped it face down in my palm. I figured it must be a bad battery connection. I opened the battery compartment and saw excessive up/down play on the coin cell battery. I glued a soft thin pad to the back of the battery (actually a small square of 3M double-sided tape), closed the battery compartment, and now it works reliably.
