Review on Enhanced GigaWorks T20 Series II Multimedia Speaker System by Creative Labs with BasXPort Technology by Yagami Iori ᠌

It was a reasonable purchase, I will order more.

As already mentioned above, the potential of the speakers is very good. All the above-described sound flaws can be largely leveled by the equalizer settings and loudness controls. Of course, a lot depends on the sound source. Pleasant shocks when connected to a sound card built into the motherboard should not be expected, although even in this case the sound can be quite comfortable. By the way, in previous reviews they said that the speakers begin to wheeze when the volume control is turned more than halfway - and so this indicator differs for different sound cards. For the built-in sound card, this remark is true, but when I connected them to another sound card, when the volume was increased to 70%, there were no obvious distortions. Regarding the drawback also stated in other reviews, associated with an annoyingly bright blue light from the power indicator around the volume knob - nothing like that happened in my case. The light is quite moderate and not only does not irritate, but does not even distract any attention. If your goal in choosing acoustics is maximum sound quality with minimum speaker sizes, then this model has almost no competitors. Of course, some Genelec 6010a will sound incomparably better, but are you ready to pay from 8500 (for ONE! speaker, in total - from 17,000 for a pair). This model is well suited for listening to calm styles of music, such as jazz, lounge, new age, instrumental compositions of the 70s-80s, etc. I am very satisfied with the purchase. Good luck with your choice!

Pros
  • 1) Due to the quality of the speakers (one fabric tweeter is worth something), the good potential for sound quality (for such speaker sizes) is perhaps even the best of everything that I have heard. Beautiful highs, upper mids and bass. In this range, the timbres of the reproduced instruments sound relatively natural. Bass should be noted separately - of course, we are not talking about any hurricane bit, but the bass is heard, and not in the form of muddy mumbling, but quite a distinct sound of the instrument in this range, which is absolutely not expected from speakers of such dimensions. 2) Small size to fit comfortably on your desktop. 3) Easy to connect.
Cons
  • 1) A well-perceptible frequency imbalance in the region of the upper bass (excessively emphasized) and the lower middle (failed) with the standard positions of the loudness controls. Because of this, the sound may sound "muffled" and "tense" at the initial connection. 2) The biggest disadvantage can be considered the high price. In the area - 2,300 - 2,900, you can find the best options for sound, if you are not constrained by the location of the speakers.
