I'm a passionate baker, so I needed a good bread knife. I chose this one and to be completely honest I chose it because the reviews were good but mainly because the price was very cheap. I was not disappointed. It quickly replaced my ginsu. Serious. I like that it's a simple design with no cracks or holes for water to get in through. I don't have to worry about a wooden handle or a pretty colored screw-on handle. They may look better, but they're worse. The blade was sharp and stayed sharp. I've been using it for a year to slice all types of bread. In fact, every bread of any kind I've baked in the last year has been sliced open by this bad boy and it's still firm and showing no signs of slowing down. I have never washed it in the dishwasher and probably never will. I hand wash it immediately after use and dry it immediately. This is how I look after all my knives and the good ones last a long time. Pros: 8" blade length. The blade is still very sharp even after a full year. The price is so low it's practically a bargain!
