What I think and I compare it to the Boze Soundwear I own.

Update, there is a problem turning on the device, when this happens you can hear a faint power on sound but then nothing. The device could use a reset button, but I fear it will be junk very soon. My comparison with Boze Soundwear, pros and cons. First the cons. Distortion in the left speaker (sound high, Come Together Beatles). from Boze and it's louder. There is no information on this device from the company, you can't find a manual online and I can't find the company's website (although they claim to have been in business for 10 years). The packaging says it was made in China. The positives First, I haven't tried the Bluetooth connectivity yet (I have Boze for that). But I bought it because it plays from the SD card. When a card is inserted, it starts immediately and continues from where you disabled it. This is great as I don't like carrying my BT transmitter around. It's great in bed, in fact I've never had the chance to listen to music other than the speakers, it fits around your collar and if you toss it back and forth it does the same. The volume is not low enough for this, so the volume of your music needs to be adjusted. I would make a dedicated SD card with night music (or atmosphere sounds), so it's not that big of a deal, but it exists. Of course, it's cheaper and the silicone sleeve works better when you sweat. Because it works with an SD card, you can wear it for a long time and use it when needed (as opposed to searching for my BT device to turn on two devices to start listening). To sum it up, the sound is pretty good (I think only a few songs cause distortion), I use it to mask ambient noise and for that it's great, I can wear it and when I'm disturbed by nearby noises (e.g. a yard blower or garbage truck), I can just turn it on and listen to my songs, and that's true even in a noisy night environment. I'm giving it a 5 because it's better than headphones or Boze in terms of functionality and affordability. It would be nice to be able to navigate through folders, have your own equalizer, but that's it and I'm happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • IXP5 Waterproof and Long Battery Life
Cons
  • Protection
