The description is perfectly true. Each has a wide end and a thin end, no batteries required or included. We've used them for things like birdseed, fuel, oil, undiluted liquids, etc. They are thick enough to be strong in normal use but not too brittle. I feel comfortable saying they will last for years. At the same time, they have their own limitations on the funnel. There are things they aren't as good at like money, hopes and dreams, bandwidth, people, virtual resources. These types of things require different types of funnels, and those funnels are minimally effective at best. It's best to stick to liquids and other small things that flow easily.
