USB-C connector is finicky

I tried this mini stick and found that the USB-C connector is very finicky. In particular, when I tried to charge my iPad Pro via the USB-C port using cables, which I have successfully used to charge an iPad directly, the iPad would not accept the charge. I don't know why this happened, but I've tried over and over with multiple cables that work great with my iPad and got the same result. The only cable that worked successfully with the USB-C port was the one that came with my iPad. It's too picky for me.
