Review on ๐Ÿ”ช 7-Inch Granton Edge Mercer Culinary Millennia Santoku Knife with Black Handle by Jean Ohm

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice edge but need a thicker blade and deeper grooves Graton

I bought this because I need a paring knife that throws food better than my standard chef's knife. I saw ATK recommendations and reviews and wanted to try it. Handle - The handle fits the hand very well. It fills my hand well and I feel like I have good control. The only adjustment is a rougher texture for better grip when the pen gets wet. The blade is very sharp and the cutting edge holds up well. My biggest complaint is that the blade is pretty thin. This affects the grooves of the graton, which I don't think are deep enough. The blade cuts nicely but due to the shallow grooves it doesn't release product as one might expect. Conclusion - A good replacement chef's knife, but not as a paring knife. Revain won't let you give it a half star so I gave it a 3 for general use. But depending on the desired and desired goal, that's more like 2.5 out of 5.
