This item reduces drafts under your front door by approximately 90%. We didn't want a rubber seal - we like the brush concept because it allows for some airflow (houses need to breathe too!). So this stopped the wind tunnel effect without creating full insulation. As a bonus, we now get a lot less fuzzy dust coming in from the lower corridors on a daily basis. Now we're just cleaning our dust! The item was easy to assemble. Just measure and cut. First we partially lengthened the brush, then cut the plastic, then cut the metal rod into the brush pieces and pinned them together. The product is supplied with the appropriate mounting material (screws of the correct size). A good product.
