. I wanted to take it apart and put it back in the box while not in use BUT the threads appear to be shaped and very sketchy. I don't think it will survive repeated disassembly and reassembly, so I'm not disassembling it. I use it to check computer circuit boards and so far it works as expected. The solder joint (3/16?) takes up the entire screen, so it works. I can raise but it's useless. Got the coupon and paid about $98 with taxes so that's good for the price. One of my boards has multiple racks which makes things more difficult, but I'm not sure if you have more access with another microscope. BTW I could focus both near and far so it worked but I had to hold the board while examining it. It has the ability to store a memory card, I don't need it. There are two lights that may or may not help. Try pointing them to the side if you're getting too much light. The power connector on the microscope itself is 90 degree, schematic and difficult to install. I fear this could become a problem in the future.
