Good For Beginner, Relaxation Painting, Practicing, Possibly for Framed Work, Good Weight and Size

I like to watercolor now and then but often it's just for relaxing than something frame-worthy but wanted paper that wouldn't buckle or wrinkle when I do paint. This set of 2 count, (33 pages each pad) works just fine for that purpose. I like the larger size because I can cut it down to a smaller size, and get more use out of the paper. The paper has a nice texture to it, nothing over the top and is sturdy enough not to bow up or curl when painting. It is sensitive to repeated strokes, and will create some fluff or grit when overworking it. For beginners or those who like to watercolor simply for relaxation or practice, this is just right. If wishing to use for frame-worthy art, it's important to keep in mind that it won't hold up to overworking (most inexpensive watercolor paper won't).I like the weight and subtle texture as well as the way it accepts pigment well. I and my daughter have enjoyed painting with this watercolor paper because it does a good job for most watercoloring projects/relaxation painting. Thanks for reading.

Pros
  • The glue-bound design allows sheets to easily tear out of the pad without leaving any residue or tearing the paper
Cons
  • The paper may not be as suitable for color mixing as other watercolor paper options
