It works well but isn't that practical. The main issue with this item is that the gauge reads from 0 to 300psi and is not accurate below 20psi. Most cars run in the 40/50 psi range, so not in the middle of the range. I think 300psi is for transmissions. Also, it would be a lot easier to screw the hose into the block if there was a rotating or disconnecting element at the end. Rotating the entire assembly to screw it into the block is a bear (especially if access to the connector is difficult). It comes with a mix of brass and aluminum hardware. It's ok for one-time use, but the HF model is a bit cheaper. For regular use I would definitely take an OTC.
