Bright but battery drains quickly

Not quite what I was hoping for. This flashlight delivers some very bright flashes, amazing viewing angles, and an impressive array of flash patterns that can be further customized with the companion software. Unfortunately, the battery is empty very quickly! Their website lists several expected uptimes for different settings, but they strike me as very odd. For example, the "rolling flash" setting is supposed to give eight hours of runtime, but my device only seems to run for one hour in this mode. Also, the light seems to lose charge over time whether you use it or not. For example, I charged it up and didn't use it at all for a week, and then when I was caught driving at night, I found that the light was completely off, while the cheap $15 rechargeable taillight I bought still worked continuous use! All of this may not be a problem when charging fast, but it usually takes 5-6 hours to fully charge. Considering the price and the fact that all the marketing revolves around super energy efficient "Chip on Board (COB)" LEDs, I was expecting a bit more from this. All in all, if you don't mind charging your bike lights every night, this light might be for you. If you're like me and only want to deal with charging once a week, maybe look elsewhere.
