It's definitely a linden tree, almost a cork oak
super soft. I was going to use these for wood block molds but they are too soft to carve even with razor sharp Japanese chisels, you get terrible feathers. But then I have a wood stove and they are great for that. Also used one to transfer photos with glue, worked great. You can make really cool rustic gifts out of them.
