Review on ๐Ÿšฝ Toilet Hinge Replacement in White Plastic by David Norwood

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The loops work. After all

One would think that in the mundane but important world of toilet seats and replacement parts there would be some sort of 'universal standardisation' but believe me that is not the case. Welcome to the world of "close enough I think". I bought a set of replacement metal "universal" hinges off eBay and the spacing between pairs of mounting holes on the new metal hinges was 3/16 short. "! I wasn't willing to drill any holes in the seat to house $10 worth of gear. So I went back to plasticโ€”that was originally on the seat as an OEM. I needed something that would fit, work, and." In the case of these replacement plastic hinges - they did not fit after I pressed firmly on my end with a screwdriver to "trick" the screws into their holes that were "close enough" - not in an exact way Clearance to bullseye. Seat holes but not 3/16". YRMV. and in some cases you may need to drill a bit. Be prepared for this. It seems to be the "new normal" when it comes to aftermarket parts. As for durability As for who knows? Plastic is plastic. All in all it was a pleasure getting the Ol' Bessie The Rose Pink Marble finish Terlet Seat up and running again with the new hinges. Other than that I'd give the loops a 4/5 - by no means a pe rfect substitute but "close enough to win a cigar". Happy washing!
