Review on Motorcraft FT103 Automatic Transmission Filter by Kenneth Foster

I would give this 1 star except for the quality of the Motorcraft gasket. This is the same gasket that Ford used on my 95 Explorer on the production line. After 4 transmission seals I have to say this is what you need. The metal seals are embedded in a thick cork gasket that will not leak! However, while the filter looks good, it doesn't have a recessed stud mount. As mentioned in another review. In short, Home Depot sells an M6 x 50mm hex bolt for 63 cents, just long enough to hold this filter in place. If you can find something longer (e.g. 55mm or even 60mm and you can add a shim or two) that's fine. Just make sure you have a new bolt or maybe another car to get it before you drop it and then pan it. then this set is 5 stars.
