I really wanted to hate this lighter. I'm more of a light purist. I don't smoke, but the need to have a fire source is ingrained in my ancestry and rural upbringing. I always had a kind of lighter with me. For years it was Zippo or Xikar, high rise (my dying ass). I diligently refilled it every few days as the fuel evaporated, only to overfill and it leaked into my pocket. Or they would find it impossible to fire because the triple fuel ratio is incompatible with altitude changes. I was ready for a change and this weird lighter seemed like an option. It is waterproof and has a durable body. I've charged it once since I bought it a few months ago and have used it many times. No smelly fuel or leakage problems. I can fly up to 12,000ft and get home 7.5km without the problems associated with pressurized versions. He only works to start a fire. I saw that he could light a cigarette, but certainly not a cigar. The small arc is more than hot enough, but the gap between the electrodes is too small to accommodate anything larger than a cigarette. In fact, this is the perfect lighter for people like me.
