Review on πŸ“¬ Designer Locking Medium Capacity Galvanized Steel Black Wall-Mount Mailbox by Gibraltar Mailboxes, Model DVK00000 by Scott Carlile

Revainrating 2 out of 5

One of the rivets fell out right after assembly.

There are a few things you should know: 1: The postal sign is very thin and feels cheap and you have to stick it on the mailbox yourself with the double-sided tape provided. . So if you're not good at centering things, good luck! 2: The back of the mailbox is not against the wall. There is a lip that goes all the way around the back of the mailbox. This means that the mounting screws (not included, by the way) have to stick out of the wall quite a bit when installing the mailbox. I mounted mine on a brick and used dowels, but the screws I used were barely enough to get the job done because of that edge. 3: There are two doors in the mailbox. The outer door is flat and works great. But the inner door (the one with the slot and lock hole that you have to install yourself has come loose from the riveted hinge on one side). Even if I wanted to lock the mailbox, it wouldn't even be secure. In fact, the only thing I like about this mailbox is its size. Magazines etc. fit no problem. But due to the poor quality, I will buy another mailbox soon.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I will add later
