My original hole had to be enlarged but that's no problem. Night vision works fine as long as my storm door is open, otherwise all I see is the white circle in the middle. If a person is not tall, it can be seen under the gloss in the center. I was kinda expecting this, albeit with a storm door. I just didn't think night sensors would produce so much light. I didn't have a bright day to determine how good the shots would be, but a shot on a cloudy day was about as good as you'd expect from this device. When I saw the speaker I assumed I could chat with someone on the other side but apparently it's just for the doorbell which works really well. Time will tell how the batteries hold up, which I think will last at least 1 year as I don't have many people coming to my door. The main purpose of the camera is to find out who is on the other side since the door windows are at the top of the door.
