For a long time it was difficult to find the right ice cream scoop. Some were too big or too long, some were made out of cheap plastic or low-grade aluminum, and some were the right size shovel but had a ridiculously short handle. This medium sized stainless steel scoop is perfect for me. It has a very comfortable weight which makes it durable and not cheap. It's very smooth and shiny. The handle and scoop are the perfect size for scooping enough ice for a glass. Its overall length is 9 inches, the shovel is 4.75 inches long and the handle is 3.5 inches long with another 0.75 inch hook on the end. The shovel is 1.5 inches deep at its deepest point and 2.25 inches deep at its widest point. The scoop holds exactly 1/2 cup in a horizontal position. I argued about buying it because it was more than double the price of similar shovels. I am very happy that I bought it. This is clearly a superior product and well worth the price. It will likely last for many years.
