Came well packaged with all instructions. It's easy to understand and connect the heating pad to the thermostat. Great that you have to hold down the SET button to change your desired temperature so there are no accidental settings. This was purchased to heat a tank for a dubia roach colony. A hole was made large enough for the probe to fit through, and the probe was attached to the inside wall of the container (to be moved to the center egg pad), with the heating mat on the outside. In the beginning I only used the adhesive backing that came with the heating mat and tested the adhesion several times for good adhesion. It lasted all night, but this afternoon I heard something fall. I found that the heating mat had detached from the trash can and was lying on the floor. This could pose a hazard, especially when I'm not at home. I've since used heat resistant tape to hold it in place and will be adding more to make sure it doesn't fall off again. Otherwise it worked fine.
