As everyone said, difficult to set up and does not charge when used. I'm glad I didn't listen to her. This is a great device. I replaced the Sierra Wireless USB connection card with AT&T because my company didn't provide me with mifi. I received it and it had a 4 step setup process. 1. Install a SIM card. 2.Install and charge the battery, you can charge it via Micro USB during setup). 3. Power on. 4. Plug in your device and enter the provided security code from the sticker on the device. Wala. Related. Please note that my SID was written in upper case, this didn't work the first time because I didn't have upper case enabled, it is case sensitive. That's almost 4 times faster than my air card. I downloaded large programs to both devices for comparison. I just had a Face Time video chat on my Ipad 2 and it was almost as free as my 10Mbps internet service over my home wifi. In terms of charging, this device has a 1.2 amp charger. If you attempt to charge an actively used device through the computer's USB port, it will be disabled to prevent damage to your computer. Yes, don't try to bypass this unless you want to damage your computer). Works well charging from any Micro USB adapter. I'd suggest one of the fairly high outputs, otherwise the battery can slowly drain when plugged in if the charger can't keep up with usage. I'm not tech savvy and it's not difficult to set up and use. I love it and now I can use my iPad and computer anywhere at the same time. The iPad 3G is a waste of money if you can buy it and use the same data plan on all your devices. Highly recommended, 5 stars.
