Review on Viega 50243 2 Inch PureFlow Manabloc by Jerry Leon

Water panel and easy to install

I installed this unit about 5 years ago and I like the ability to turn on separate taps or feeds to each individual unit. The code here still requires a disconnect at the end of each line near the fixture, but I don't think that's the primary purpose of this splitter. I was building an addition to my house and it allowed me to sketch out the plumbing for the new fixtures and then turn them on as each section was complete. There are a few things to consider and plan accordingly. The distributor is a mere distributor and contains only selected connection adapters. Power adapters are not included and must be purchased separately. I also had a small issue with the port leaking a very small amount of water, on the order of a drop or two per day. I installed a 1/2" Viega 36205 connector plug on unused ports to keep the connector clean until needed. It would have been nice to have these items bundled, but from the looks of it it helps the To keep costs down and retain some flexibility.Another small issue that may not be a problem, but the 1/2" PEX connectors are crimp connectors (F1807) like the 3/4 power supplies I bought I have contacted Viega and the techs have been very helpful but they currently only supply PEX (F1807) compression fittings. Viega currently does not supply adapters for PEX-A (F1960) expansion valve fittings. Anyway I crimp PEX-A onto a Viega- adapter and use the PEX-A extension to the end. Also in my spares inventory is a replacement 1/4 turn valve stem kit 51602 which includes a spare valve wrench. In general the installation and unit went well, making it suitable for installation.
