I was referring to a very specific use of this pet door. I needed something that would fit between two wall studs that were only 5.5 inches apart. The size of the flap was advertised as 5 x 7 so it was perfect. I had to change the setup as it is to be used with a door and I wanted it in a wall. I did this by simply cutting off the plastic screw holes with a handsaw to allow the frame to sit flush. The location for this pet door is in my garage leading to the kitchen. I used glue to attach both sides of the frame to the inside and outside wall. I also lined the inner wall cavity with wood, joint compound and paint for the finished tunnel. The transparent flap really helps cats learn how to use the door. A day later one of my cats had already crept in. in his mouth a small snack (a lizard) he had caught outside.
