Excellent Cat Door - Cat Doors, Railings & Steps

I have powder so I needed a medium door. It took the cats a minute to use the lid so I started doing that until they got used to their kennel. Now they are world champions. I like the transparent plastic and especially the magnetic closure. I never have to worry about them locking from the outside or getting their paw stuck in the door (like I've read about other lockers). A small complaint: I would like the door it closes to be able to stay attached when lifted. . It's okay to keep her out of…

NO PATTERN - POOR INSTRUCTIONS - GOOD DOOR

Once fitted the door looks nice and cats use it with no problem. If I was just looking at the door and not the installation process I would give 4 or 5 stars. But the installation is not as easy as it seems. Unless you are a master carpenter with the right tools you will NEVER install it in 20 minutes as per the description. There was no template. For me that is a BIG RED FLAG. The back of the box says to use the sliding door cover as a template, but that would be a BIG MISTAKE. I ended up…

Modified Wall Mount

I was referring to a very specific use of this pet door. I needed something that would fit between two wall studs that were only 5.5 inches apart. The size of the flap was advertised as 5 x 7 so it was perfect. I had to change the setup as it is to be used with a door and I wanted it in a wall. I did this by simply cutting off the plastic screw holes with a handsaw to allow the frame to sit flush. The location for this pet door is in my garage leading to the kitchen. I used glue to attach both…

Continuous. Surprisingly good quality for the price

We live in a rural area where people are constantly discarding unwanted cats. We catch, sterilize, vaccinate and release as many as we can. Some cats leave after a visit to the vet, others choose to stay. Since there are too many to keep indoors, our garage became Kitty Central. Access is via a heavily frequented cat door. I bought this cat door to fit in a garage door that we replaced a few weeks ago. Despite the low cost and plastic construction, it's fairly durable. This door seems to hold…

Good Cat Door: Cat Doors, Railings & Steps

Installation: I installed them in a box first to check the hole size/height as we have 8 to 15lb cats. This is a good idea as using the lid as a template will create an oversized opening. Another small issue was that our door has decorative panels which turned out to be a bit thinner than the cat flap minimum thickness, but some sealers fixed that. I also felt that the included screws were quite difficult to screw in. Cat Friendly: One of our cats learned to use the door within hours after I…

Happy cats (and owners) everywhere

I have a fat older master cat (16lbs and climbing) who can still get through. I love these things and have installed them in several homes. This allows doors to be locked and cats to be let through (or not locked). I can't think of anything to improve, and that's saying something for an old engineer/critic. It gets the job done and is pretty easy to install. I have a utility room with a noisy stove and a litter box, so I have the daunting task of drilling through the two sides of the metal…

Great cat door! This is PURRRFECT

We just installed this cat door. It took less than 40 minutes and is just amazing. We have a small house and I am pregnant now. We have been using the litter box for two years now. Of course I didn't want my baby crawling around in cat boxes and we always had to keep the hall door open for the cats. The clasp is a bit stiff at first and takes a while to soften up and stop getting stuck in weird positions. But we've saved a lot of money so far by not having to open the garage door to let our…
