Bought this particular model for future additions to Apple media devices. The vertical stand that comes with this model is much better than the snap-on ones that typically come with Netgear routers. The stand for this model is really solid (or you can use the wall mount holes). The signal is strong on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Started using Roku3 on 5GHz channels and performance has greatly improved. Before setting up a home network, we recommend updating the firmware. The GUI differed slightly from the standard Netgear N router, but thanks to the excellent built-in help files, it only took a few minutes to figure out where all the menu options were. Works very well in open spaces like balconies and doesn't cause problems when other 5GHz routers are nearby. Pros: - Very durable with heavy base - Very good outdoor range - Manual power buttons, WPS, antenna Cons: Reset button on bottom (not available with wall mount)
