Really good range in the open area

Bought this particular model for future additions to Apple media devices. The vertical stand that comes with this model is much better than the snap-on ones that typically come with Netgear routers. The stand for this model is really solid (or you can use the wall mount holes). The signal is strong on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Started using Roku3 on 5GHz channels and performance has greatly improved. Before setting up a home network, we recommend updating the firmware. The GUI differed slightly…

PRODUCT FAILED FOR 1 MONTH

I have had several routers in the past such as Belkin, Cisco, TP Link and most of them worked very well. To maximize my speed, I bought this Revain WNDRMACv2 model because it was on sale. Initially, I'm SUPER happy with its speed and connectivity. HOWEVER the product was partially broken within 1 month of purchase. The 2.4G router part stopped working. I tried to contact Netgear. The friendly staff exchanged a few emails with me and I still can't solve the problem. I believe this is a HARDWARE…

Well! Computers and Accessories

I've been using it for about 6 months and it works great! I bought this to replace an old Linksys router that finally failed. It looks pretty classy and looks great next to my white WD MyBook NAS drive. The guest network has another great second goal in my setup. Instead of using it for guest access, I configured it with a WEP key so older devices could access an isolated portion of my network for internet access only. This allows me to keep the newer encryption on my 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz bands…

Update: SHIT (I'm glad I bought this instead of the 3400)

This piece of shit is sleeping after 15 months of shit. One day, the wireless connection to my laptop dropped, and then a high-pitched squeak came from this router. capacitor problems. Toast.------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- ------------- I only worked 2 weeks. I use my computer more than my laptop. I just hooked up my laptop and Wii and everything has worked fine so far. The signal strength is excellent on the 2nd floor and the…

Great product, best networking products

Bought a few months ago and the router seems to be keeping up. I use it quite intensively. I have 11 devices connected via wifi and 2 via ethernet. I also have a 2TB hard drive connected to my router which also acts as a DLNA server so I can view my photos and videos directly on my DLNA devices. the transfer to the hard disk is about 1-2 MB/s. Hopefully this will increase after I get the range extender. Update 05/08/2012 --- It's been over 9 months since I installed this route. There were no…

Has worked long enough, warranty is up

Worked great for 1 year and 1 month. Now that the warranty has expired, the Wi-Fi is starting to fail and there is a constant high-pitched squeak when the router is turned on. This is a dual-band router, the 2.5GHz band only broadcasts intermittently, even if you have to re-enter your password. 5GHz lasts longer but has an extremely weak signal at only 5-10 feet. Tried flashing, factory reset, turning off and using the Wi-Fi on/off button on the router to no avail. Devices connected via…
