Review on πŸ”ͺ Protective Knife Guard for Chef Knives - Mercer Culinary, 8 Inch x 2 Inch by James Cross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I need this for cutlery and knife accessories

Can't comment on durability, strength or value for money as it's still fairly new and time will only tell those 3 things. I recently decided that I really need to invest in better knives, I use these really cheap knives from Chinese hardware stores most of my life, but they don't sharpen very well and don't "stay sharp". long before I die (my wish list) I was dying to have at least 2 really good (pretty good, I don't know what to call really good) knives and bought two. I love them, I sit and just look at them, they are so cute, so hot, so beautiful and skinny, you won't believe it. However, now that I have my fine knives, I must protect them. I only have about 30 inches of free space to work with, so I don't have room for any of those knife blocks, and because the wall is set up you can't put a magnetic strip there. Oh yes I have a drawer for all my kitchen utensils, cutlery, everything so I use a flat box to store the things I use all the time including my knives which I used to have in those hard plastic cases but they are open up and something is getting in there including moisture/oil in the air (this kitchen gets a lot of use). So I looked around and saw this. My lovely new knife was too big for the other cloth savers I've bought but this one fits like a glove. It feels sturdy. To me, the knife's razor-sharp blade doesn't seem to cut through the fabric (yet?), seems to protect my prized knife. In other words, it works very well so far and I can easily distinguish my excellent knife from everyone else. . lousy chinese done only on the cover.
