I looked at several PDR tools and decided on Gliston based on other reviews. When I received it I wanted to test it right away so I decided to try it on the back of my pickup which has all sorts of little dents. I thought it would be a good place to start and practice. The glue gun heats up quickly, but it's so light you have to hang it somewhere to keep it from falling. I found a small dent in one of the pads that came with it, sealed well and tucked into the dent. I left it on for 3 minutes to make sure I had a good connection. I pre-cleaned the dent with Windex and a paper towel. Once it had cooled I placed the tool on top of the dent and screwed the tool to the tool for good leverage. I worked with impulses until the glue burst. The dent has pulled out about 75%. Not bad I thought so I resized the backing pad a few times and probably used a whole stick of glue but the tool worked really well. The only problem I had was getting the adhesive off the pad when it was stuck to it and not the paint. Since alcohol is scarce, I used Windex, a thumbnail, and the small plastic tool that came with the kit. The tool actually works very well. If I had one complaint it would be the rubber on the instrument itself. If you are trying to pull out a dent on a rounded surface the pad will move over the tool and I think if you pull hard on the dent it can Rubber slip and damage the paint. That's why I gave 4 stars. I would advise the manufacturer to make the foot liner out of a thicker and stiffer material. In general, I rate the tool! If you take your time, you will get good results. If you are in a hurry, pay for it.
