I ordered one of these units 3 years ago for a customer who lost wifi on their laptop. It worked great for them so I ordered this version when I wanted some of my computers to run at 5GHz. The first computer I installed the driver on was supposed to run at 5GHz but never did. After installing the driver for this wireless adapter, the computer suddenly began to work in the 5 GHz band. I ended up moving the adapter to an older computer. Doubled the download speed on this 9-10 year old computer. Well! I installed a second one on the computer my wife uses at school and it almost tripled the computer's startup speed. I will always take one of these with me when I travel as it works better than the built in adapter in my travel laptop.
