I bought this microwave oven/steamer to cook individual servings of food in the microwave and it is exactly what I expected. The top vent prevents overflow during cooking, and the handles stay locked until I unlock them. When using it without a steamer I need a strainer to drain excess liquid, but I don't mind. This is a great product for one person. Maybe two if you don't eat much! I've steamed raw veggies and fish and they turned out great. I also use it for frozen veggies and it works great. I needed 1/2 cup of rice for the recipe and decided to cook it in this stove instead of my tiny electric rice cooker which makes a terrible mess and it came out perfect with no overflow to clean up in my microwave. I wouldn't normally write a long review on the 1 liter microwave, but this little thing is very helpful. I wish I had something like this when raising my family. Very often you only need a small amount of something cooked to add to a recipe and this cooker does just that. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
