Review on Kbrotech Handlebar Extender Extension Aluminum by Matt Heringer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product!: Cycling

Got mine yesterday. Literally half an hour out of the box it was installed. And that includes the time I spent obsessively measuring everything to make sure the mounting clips were perfectly centered on the extension and dividing them into three perfectly equal parts. (I've been working with engineers for too long. LOL!) I didn't have the variance described in other reviews. However, mine is center mounted to a drop bar that spreads out towards the center mounting point. Also, the bar itself has a black "matte" finish, which can help the spacers hold up better than on a chrome or other polished bar. After I tightened the clamp screws, the extension would not budge; it's as hard as it gets. I used thinner pads/pads; a thicker set is also included. Interestingly, the extension itself is quite small in diameter. I don't know if this is "standard" or not; maybe because the Cycliq Fly12 I installed on the extension has thicker handlebar mount padding that allows it to fit perfectly. But this is something to be aware of. If the components you wish to install on the extension do not come with gaskets to allow them to be mounted on a 31.8mm/1.25" (approx. 100mm/4" diameter) rod, you will need some carry out work. Overall this extension fits my bike perfectly and does the job perfectly. This was probably the easiest, simplest component installation I've ever installed on a bike. When it comes time to add an extension to our other bikes, I'll definitely take that. Finally, I should say that I have absolutely no relationship with Kbrotech other than as a very satisfied customer.
