This is the correct bypass pressure not ONLY for Subaru turbocharged engines, but also for 1990's EJ18 and EJ22 SOHC engines - the wastegate pressure specification is 23psi, as per the factory manual specified . If you use the wrong filters (the "right ones," as they say in auto parts stores, which are actually not right), the oil level light will stay on or flash for an excessive amount of time. With WIX 57712 (or NAPA 7712) filters, the oil light does not come on when first started. I have used these 57712 filters on my 1995 Impreza 2.2 for many years and have not had any oil pressure related problems.
