Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhance Precision and Safety with the WEN 4288T Cast Iron Bench Grinder Pedestal Stand with Water Pot by Tony Elliott

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Terribly low altitude

Wen, as usual, did a good job of finding a home/hobbyist product at an attractive price point, rather than finding the obvious flaws of other instrument sources such as HF. This stand is strong enough, easy to assemble, and the mounting plate has many slots and fasteners. I installed a Palmgren grinder and it was a perfect fit. The photo of this booth on Revain is purely a joke. I'm 6ft 2in tall and when configured as in the photo the water tub is below my knees! - this stand is short, very short. I spent 20 minutes lightly grinding and sharpening the tool and my back, shoulders and even legs were begging me to stop. the stand is too short than spend 3 times more. I was wrong. It would be fairly easy to replace the larger tube but see the comment below on the rack leg length. Since it can press hard without much tipping when sanding. Higher stance, higher center of gravity, resulting in tipping. - I would be better off if the legs were an inch longer or if she had more legs. I wouldn't call it too harsh for my chopper setup, but I could imagine a scenario where it tips over in a moment of inattention, such as when maneuvering a large sheet of plywood around a small shop. My first evaluation showed that I could compromise. a decent stance against a terrible height. After using it, I came to the conclusion that tools should inspire anticipation, not fear. It might work for you, but definitely not for me.
