Review on πŸ” Enhanced SEO: PORTER-CABLE Pruning Reciprocating Saw Blades, 9-Inch, 3-Pack (PC760R) by Troy Arnold

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing price. best in saber saws

This was my first attempt at using a saber saw. I bought some Diablo blades to cut through steel and thought I'd buy some to deal with the bamboo stool that's growing too close to the street lamp outside my house. I walked through quite a bit of bamboo with one of them at 15A Milwaukee. Bamboo shoots are 3-5 inches in diameter and grow very close together. Once I can position the blade properly so that it doesn't touch another bamboo while slicing, it slices through like butter, but if the blade hits another bamboo shoot while it's already slicing one, the blade will likely bend. This became more of a problem the further I got into the bamboo stool. I only broke one blade before replacing it with a stiffer but shorter Diablo blade with a higher TPI. It also managed to get about the same amount of work done but wasn't as aggressive as the 5TPI blade. I don't think the extra money for carbide tipped delimbers is worth it as the problem isn't so much cutting hard material as cutting other bamboo shoots. Next time I'll try Milwaukee torch or ax blades as I've heard they're a bit thicker and might not bend as easily (?). The issue of the tip snagging on nearby shoots wouldn't be an issue if it were something other than bamboo though, so at this price point I'll probably pick up a few as well.
