These are definitely not fancy needles, but they do the job. I bought these needles 3 years ago and have had no reason to buy any other needles. Sometimes I find one with a tiny stripe on it, but I just rub them together and the stripe falls off and they stay smooth. All the ones I've used in projects came out very smooth and the yarn didn't snag at all. They're strong enough for all the projects I've completed. I don't think they will break with normal use, but they will probably break if you sit on them or something. Definitely worth buying, especially for beginner knitters who want a full sizing set without spending a fortune. Also, I personally prefer wooden/bamboo needles to metal needles, especially when I was a beginner because they tend to grab yarn better) and you don't lose stitches as easily.
