Review on Samsung Galaxy A72 (SM-A725M/DS) by Kristine Tay ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is okay, it's not a waste of money!

Before that, there was a Samsung A5 2022, an excellent device, but it began to slow down and discharge strongly, so I had to look for a replacement. It turned out that phones of the same size now have similar characteristics, that is, it would not make sense to change the phone to a similar one. I wanted to take more powerful, so I took a larger diagonal. The Samsung A52 would also fit, but the strong PWM of the screen repelled it, the A72 has it softer. At first, the eyes still got used to it, but now there are no problems. In general, the phone has mixed impressions. Some things were done really well, and some things are amazing. The difference with the previous 4 years, and apart from the cameras there are no fundamental differences, they even saved on something. Now I'm not talking about the processor, and performance in general. Obviously, a modern phone solves modern problems better than the old one. But in general, it was more convenient to use the A5. If the old one did not hang up, I would not change it.

Pros
  • - Bright screen, the PWM frequency of the screen is within the acceptable range. - 3 main cameras. Let the quality of the photo wide and telephoto are inferior to the main camera, but often they help out and allow you to get a beautiful composition without cropping or moving back. And with good lighting, the difference in quality is not noticeable. - Moisture protection
Cons
  • - Wide diagonal for an amateur. Although I got used to it in a week, but after a month it no longer seems big. - In-screen fingerprint sensor. The main problem for me. It doesn't always unlock. Moreover, it unlocks perfectly on the index fingers, but not on the thumb. But mostly you can use your thumb. I rewrote the fingerprint several times, it does not help. And the minus of such a sensor is an always-on sensor that waits for a finger to be pressed. This means that if the phone is not locked for some reason, even with the screen turned off, it can turn on in your pocket and start typing SMS. You can try to lock it before putting it in your pocket by clicking on the lock icon, but even here it may not lock. If the face unlock works, the phone will immediately unlock. You have to turn the phone away from your face, click on the lock icon and then put it in your pocket. In general, this moment was not thought out by blocking. - The cameras are awful. Action scenes are almost impossible to capture. Switching between cameras with a delay, the reaction to the shooting button is also delayed. It is very strange to see this in a new phone. Samsung A5 2022 reacted even faster. - Combined microSD slot and 2 SIM cards. With such dimensions of the phone, it was possible to do 3 slots for everything. Further, the cons are rather firmware, and not a phone, but perhaps they are present only in Samsungs. - Applications are not unloaded from memory. It seems like the function of leaving applications to sleep is activated, but in a day you can go into the application you opened yesterday and continue working from the same place. On the one hand, it is convenient, on the other hand, it is annoying that it cannot be controlled. Whether this affects the operating time of the phone has not yet been understood. - No SMS filter by keywords, only by numbers. Spam is terribly annoying and now you have to download a third-party application to filter it. A trifle, but unpleasant.
